Bollywood actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has spoken out against Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar over allegations against Rashmika Mandanna. The actress supported Rashmika while interacting with the media on March 4 during her visit to Sri Hosa Marigudi Temple in Kapu. The controversy erupted after Karnataka Congress MLA Ravi Ganiga accused Rashmika of refusing to attend the Bengaluru International Film Festival and allegedly disregarding the Kannada language.
Kangana Ranaut’s Statement Kangana, while addressing the ongoing controversy, expressed her support for Rashmika Mandanna. "Someone tries to strike, tighten the screws... God will save us. God is always standing with all the artists," she stated. Her remarks came after Rashmika faced backlash from Karnataka politicians, with some even suggesting withdrawing subsidies from her films. The Allegations Against Rashmika Mandanna Rashmika Mandanna came under scrutiny after MLA Ravi Ganiga alleged that she had refused multiple invitations to attend the Bengaluru International Film Festival. According to him, Rashmika stated, "I have my house in Hyderabad, I don’t know where Karnataka is, and I don’t have time. I can't come."
The MLA further claimed that a legislator personally visited her home several times to invite her, but she declined and allegedly disregarded Kannada. "Shouldn't we teach her a lesson?" he questioned, while also urging the government to reconsider subsidies for her films. Clarification from Rashmika Mandanna’s Team A source close to Rashmika Mandanna dismissed the allegations, calling them "completely false and lacking any element of truth." The source clarified, "The statements attributed to Rashmika and the entire story about someone approaching her and her refusing to attend the Bengaluru film festival are incorrect. This statement is being issued to set the record straight and dispel any false narratives."
Despite this clarification, MLA Ravi Ganiga maintained that he has evidence to support his claims. On March 4, he told the media that he would release documents proving that Rashmika was indeed invited but declined the offer. Karnataka Dy CM DK Shivakumar’s Remarks Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar had earlier voiced his disappointment over the poor turnout of Kannada film industry members at the Bengaluru International Film Festival. He raised concerns about the absence of actors, directors, and producers at the event’s inauguration on March 1. As of now, Rashmika Mandanna has not personally addressed the allegations.
